APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • MQ C and unmanaged .NET clients earlier at versions earlier than
9.1.3 are sensitive to the incrementing of a version field
within the CCDT. If these clients read such a CCDT from a 9.1.3
queue manager, the client is unable to correctly parse the CCDT.

Local fix

  • Recreate the CCDT file at the same release as the client from
    MQSC definitions.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users that have clients that use CCDTs generated by newer levels
    of code are potentially affected.

This issue affects the MQ C client and unmanaged .NET client.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A CCDT was generated on an MQ 9.1.3 installation and used by an
older level of client, the MQCD version used by MQ 9.1.3 was not
understood correctly by the client and the channel definition
    was corrupted/unusable.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ client logic was corrected to permit any version of MQCD
to be read and to copy only the fields that the level of client
    can use.
