APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When performing an MQSeriesWeb installation into Docker
creating an instance fails and the following is seen in the
/opt/mqm/web/etc/server.env file

WLP_USER_DIR=/var/mqm/web/installations/AMQ7047E: An
unexpected error was encountered by a command. Reason
code is 0.

Local fix

  • The problem can be resolved by adding a call to crtmqdir
BEFORE dpkg:

/opt/mqm/bin/crtmqdir -f -s.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
USERS AFFECTED:
Any users installing the mqweb component where the /var/mqm
filesystem is not mounted could be affected by this problem.


Platforms affected:
Linux on Power, Linux on S390, Linux on x86-64, Linux on zSeries

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The dspmqver command run during installation may fail, for
example if /var/mqm is not mounted. If dspmqver failed, this
incorrectly caused the installation of the mqweb server
component to silently fail when discovering the installation
details

Problem conclusion

  • The MQSeriesWeb component installation logic has been modified
to fail the installation with a meaningful error message to the
user if the dspmqver command fails.
