IT28404: Issuing ctrl+c during password entry for runmqsc leaves terminal without echo

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Issuing ctrl+c during the entry of a password for runmqsc,
  dmpmqcfg, dspmqrte, runmqtrm or runmqtrmc suppresses normal echo
  of the standard input stream. This appears to have the same
  effect as stty -echo.
  

Local fix

• Avoid issuing ctrl+c, or reset terminal settings using the
  following Unix commands at a shell prompt:
    stty sane
    stty echo

  Asynchronous interrupt signals prevent the terminal settings
  being restored.
  

Problem conclusion

• A code change ensure that terminal settings are restored.
