Error description

  • The MQ appliance sometimes reloads when enquiring the status
of HA queue managers on the MQ Console.
The following steps can also lead to reload:
    1. Request the Queue Manager status using the REST API;
    2. Edit the configuration of the MQ Appliance using the web UI,
at the same time as step 1.
    3. The web UI will show the loading animation until it times
         out.
    4. After approximately 120 seconds the MQ Appliance reloads

The error-reports show that the reload is caused by a WATCHODG
    RESTART

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All MQ Appliance users who use REST API or WebUI to query the HA
    queue manager statuses.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When the status to the HA queue managers were queried through
REST API or web UI and if there was a delay in getting the
response for the status inquiry then watchdog process marked the
thread as hung, triggering a restart.

Problem conclusion

  • The status check results in multiple internal commands being
issued which individually may take longer to complete. In order
to prevent the reload the timeout interval that determines how
long to wait to receive a response from an internal command has
    been reduced.
