APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the owner of the application is a user account including a
space character and the resulting client connection is blocked
    by a channel
authentication rule, the AMQ9777 message generated in queue
manager error log displays a truncated client userid.

Local fix

  • None. The problem only affects the text written to the error
    logs.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Applications defining authority records for users (CLNTUSER's)
that have spaces within the user ID.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
If a client connection was blocked by a channel authentication
rule defined for a userid that had a space character within it,
the AMQ9777 error message recorded in the error logs incorrectly
truncated the message. The message was truncated at the first
space character within the CLNTUSER rather than the space
character that marked the end of the user ID. The coding error
only affected what appeared in the error logs, there was no
effect on the granting or refusing access based on the OAM
authority rules defined for that userID.

Problem conclusion

  • The coding error has been resolved to record the full user ID in
    the AMQ9777 error message.
