Error description

  • The default size for the queue manager's error log files size
    was increased from 2MB to 32MB in IBM MQ 9.0.4.0 however the MQ
    Explorer displays 2MB (2097152 bytes) as the default error log
    size for a V9.1 queue manager.

    USERS AFFECTED:
    This issue affects users of the MQ Explorer who are viewing the
    error log size of a queue manager, at command level "904" or
    later, in the "Extended" pane of the queue manager "Properties"
    window.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    From IBM MQ V9.0.4.0, the default size of the queue manager's
    error log files increased from 2MB to 32MB.  This is documented
    in the following Knowledge Center page:

    However the IBM MQ Explorer was not updated to reflect the
    change in the default size for queue manager's at this version
    or higher.  The MQ Explorer displayed the default value 2097152
    rather than 33554432.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM MQ Explorer has been updated such that the correct
    default size for the queue manager error logs is shown in the
    "Extended" pane of the queue manager "Properties" window.
