APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When installing fix pack MQ v9.0 on Solaris, following
unnecessary ICU libraries are being displayed during post
installation which may mislead the users to think these files
are being installed on their system, which are not.

Local fix

  • The warnings and error messages are *not* an indication that the
fix pack installation failed, so they can be can be safely
ignored.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The ICU libraries listed are no longer required. Since these
exist in base levels of the product, they will be removed during
fixpack installation by post installation script. The post
installation script displayed these files to users while
removing which may have mislead users to think these libraries
are being installed

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ Solaris post installation script has been modified to
avoid displaying unnecessary ICU libraries during fix pack
installation.
