IT26293: Wildcard schema (WSCHEMA) value incorrectly altered when replacing SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When replacing the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB subscription, for example
  using the "DEFINE SUB(SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB) [...] REPLACE" MQSC
  command, without specifying a wildcard schema (WSCEMA) value,
  the WSCHEMA value is set to CHAR. The expected default value for
  the WSCHEMA attribute  is TOPIC.
  

Local fix

• LOCAL FIX:
  Explicitly specify the WSCHEMA option with the desired value of
  CHAR or TOPIC when replacing the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB.
  

Problem summary

  Users who wish to redefine the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB subscription
  object using the REPLACE option.
  
  This includes users restoring queue manager configuration that
  has been dumped by the dmpmqcfg utility.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  A logic error meant that WSCHEMA(CHAR) was incorrectly used as
  the default when redefining the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB subscription,
  if no explicit value for WSCHEMA was provided.
  

Problem conclusion

• The MQ queue manager logic has been updated to correctly use
  WSCHEMA(TOPIC) as the default value if no WSCHEMA value is
  providing when redefining the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB subscription.
