Error description

  • Queue manager does not start at its preferred location.

Stopping and then starting the queue manager brings the queue
manager up on the secondary appliance.

Other HA queue managers are shown to be running as expected.

The clearhapreferred and sethapreferred commands do not help
    to resolve the issue.

The status of the queue manager is as below:

    On the primary appliance:

    mqa(mqcli)# status QM1
    QM(QM1) Status(Running

    HA preferred location: This appliance

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
If the HA queue manager resource enters a failed state then it
needs to be cleaned up during queue manager start up. However,
failed actions were not detected correctly in this scenario and
the queue manager failed to start.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been modified to detect failures and recover from
the failures during HA queue manager startup.
