Error description

  • The Knowledge Center page, "Operating System configuration and
tuning for IBM MQ on UNIX and Linux systems, and IBM i"
recommends minimum operating system configuration needed.
'mqconfig' command can be used to verify system configuration.
However it doesn't validate and display all the kernel settings
recommended.

USERS AFFECTED:
MQ v8 users using the 'mqconfig' utility  on Linux and HP-UX
platform will be affected.


Platforms affected:
HP-UX Itanium, Linux on x86-64, Linux on x86, Linux on S390,
Linux on Power, Linux on zSeries

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The 'mqconfig' utility supplied with IBM MQ version 8 did not
validate and display the kernel parameters kernel.threads-max,
kernel.pid_max in Linux platform and resource limit in HP-UX
platform.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The code has been updated to validate and display all the
tunable kernel parameters recommended for IBM MQ.
