Error description

  • When runmqsc commands are issued remotely via a client
    connection, if there is no response from the command server then
    error AMQ8416 will be reported.
    
    AMQ8416: MQSC timed out waiting for a response from the command
    server.
    
    The above error message doesn't provide any details on the
    problem encountered apart from timeout error or any suggestions
    for actions to be taken.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    The AMQ8416 error message did not provide any additional context
    to assist with the diagnosis of issues that may cause the remote
    command server to fail to respond to the request.
    

Problem conclusion

  • AMQ8416 error message has been updated to provide the name of
    the queue on which the reply was expected and not received. This
    information can be used in conjunction with diagnostics on the
    queue manager side to identify the root cause of the problem.
    
    Changes added under IT25043 add additional diagnostic messages
    at the queue manager side for known cases where the command
    server cannot respond to the client which issued the request.
