IT24653: The haregtyp /r command for registering MQ MSCS resources reports success when an older, invalid registration is found.

APAR status

Error description

• The IBM MQ haregtyp command is used to register (/r) and to
  unregister (/u) IBM MQ resources for use with Microsoft Cluster
  Server (MSCS).  When the haregtyp /r command succeeds, it
  prints a message similar to this:

    The IBM WebSphere MQ resource and administration libraries
    have been successfully registered with MSCS.
  .
  .
  However, haregtyp /r issues the same message when it finds an
  existing IBM MQ resource registration, even if those resources
  are not valid (for example, if they point to an old MQ
  installation path which no longer exists).
  

Local fix

• If the IBM MQ MSCS resources need to be redefined, you must
  first remove all queue managers from the MSCS cluster
  configuration, then stop and restart the Cluster service in
  Windows to free any references to IBM MQ DLLs.  Then you can
  unregister MQ from MSCS using 'haregtyp /u' and register it
  again using 'haregtyp /r' before adding your queue managers
  back to the MSCS configuration.
