Error description

  • When WebSphere Application Server V9 Traditional starts up, the
following message appears in the application server's
    SystemOut.log file:

    SibMessage W [:] CWSJY0003W: MQJCA5001: WMQ messaging :
    '9.0.0.0-p900'

The message is ambiguous and causes confusion: is it an
informational message, as suggested by the MQJCA5001 message
prefix (with no action needed on the part of the WebSphere
Application Server administrator), or a warning as indicated by
the CWSJY0003W prefix (which may require an action)?

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects users of the WebSphere Application Server V9
    Traditional IBM MQ messaging provider.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Since the release of WebSphere Application Server V7, an
application server instance will write the following
informational messages to it's SystemOut.log file when it starts
    up:

WMSG1611I: The installed level of the WebSphere MQ messaging
    provider is <version number>
      WMSG1703I: RAR implementation version <implementation version>

These messages allow customers and IBM Support to see which
version of the WebSphere MQ resource adapter is being used by
    the application server.

The WebSphere MQ V7.5 (and later) resource adapter will log the
    message:

      MQJCA5001: WMQ messaging : '<implementation version>'

when it initializes. If the MQ resource adapter has been
deployed into WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile, this
message will appear in the application server's messages.log
file. For other application servers, such as JBoss or WildFly,
the message will be written to the MQ classes for JMS log file
(mqjms.log). This helps customers and IBM Support to identify
which version of the MQ resource adapter is being used by an
    application server.

WebSphere Application Server V9 Traditional includes the MQ V9
resource adapter. When the application server starts up, it
    writes the two messages:

WMSG1611I: The installed level of the WebSphere MQ messaging
    provider is <version number>
      WMSG1703I: RAR implementation version <implementation version>

to the SystemOut.log file. However, when the MQ V9 resource
adapter initialised, it logged the following message:

      MQJCA5001: WMQ messaging : '<implementation version>'

This resulted in WebSphere Application Server V9 Traditional
    writing the warning message:

      CWSJY0003W: MQJCA5001: WMQ messaging : '<implementation
    version>'

    to the SystemOut.log file.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ V9 resource adapter has been updated so that it does not
    log the message:

      MQJCA5001: WMQ messaging : '<implementation version>'

if it has been deployed into WebSphere Application Server V9
Traditional. This means that the application server will not
    write the message:

      CWSJY0003W: MQJCA5001: WMQ messaging : '<implementation
    version>'

to its SystemOut.log file when it starts up.
