APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • MQ messages are sent from the mainframe (CCSID 500) to Solaris
(CCSID 1208) without conversion.  Conversion takes place on the
Solaris' sender channel when the message is sent to another
Solaris queue manager.  After the Solaris queue managers were
upgraded to MQ V9.0, the application was no longer able to
consume the converted message from the destination queue due to
unexpected characters.

character tables.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The EBCDIC NL character (0x15) was incorrectly converted to
0xC285 by default instead of the expected LF value 0x0A.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The IBM MQ data conversion routines have been changed to
correctly convert EBCDIC NL (0x15) to LF (0x0A) by default.
