Error description
If you have HA configured and then you modify the IP configuration that was used when the HA was configured (eth13, eth17 and/or eth21) then mqa(mqcli)# dsphagrp AMQ6575: The command failed because the HA Group is not running on this appliance. mqa(mqcli)# dspmq QMNAME(<qmgr>) STATUS(Status not available) mqa(mqcli)# status <qmgr> QM(<qmgr>) Status(Status not available) HA role: UNKNOWN HA status: UNKNOWN HA control: UNKNOWN HA preferred location: UNKNOWN ------------------------------------- The necessary configuration steps to recover from this scenario were not clear from the error message reported.
Local fix
Reconfigure the old IP addresses to HA interfaces (eth13, eth17 and eth21) on both the appliances to old addresses (the one used when the HA/DR was configured originally) and reboot the box. If not allowed to revert config while attached to the network you can disconnect HA interfaces and then change the IPs. This will bring the HA queue managers online. After bringing the HA queue managers online, you can remove the queue managers from the HA group one by one from both the appliances and then remove the HA group. After removing the HA group you can then configure the desired IP addresses for the HA interfaces and then configure the HA group again.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: MQ Appliance users who have configured one or more queue managers in an HA group. Platforms affected: MultiPlatform **************************************************************** PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The HA configurations on the MQ Appliance becomes unavailable if the IP configurations of the HA interfaces are modified with out removing the HA group. However, the error reported by the display HA group command 'dsphagrp' does not clearly indicate the cause of the failure.
Problem conclusion
A new error message (AMQ3937) has been added to the MQ Appliance to report the failure caused due to the change in the IP configuration for the HA interfaces. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Version Maintenance Level v8.0 8.0.0.9 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
