IT22098: The mqconfig script hangs after applying MQ fix pack 7.5.0.7 or 7.5.0.8

Error description

  • After applying the fixpack 7.5.0.7 or 7.5.0.8, attempts to run
the mqconfig
script appear to hang and do not return the user to the prompt.
For example, the following command completed successfully prior
to applying the fixpack:
su mqm -c "/opt/mqm/bin/mqconfig"

USERS AFFECTED:
Users running mqconfig script on an MQ installation that
contains fix for the APAR IT13404.

APAR IT13404 is included in fix packs 7.5.0.7 and 7.5.0.8.


Platforms affected:
MultiPlatform

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The APAR IT13404 added a change to fix a hang issue in the
mqconfig script. However this
change worked fine in some platforms and/or shells, but caused
new and different hang problem in some
platforms/shells.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The mqconfig script has been updated to address the new hang
problem caused by the APAR IT13404.
