Error description

  • Due to a defect in the code when Pub/Sub Queue managers migrated
from MQ V6 broker to any later versions of MQ, the
pub/sub process(amqfcxba) maintains an open handle on the
    inter-broker communication transmission queue

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users who use MQ pub/sub brokers that were migrated from MQ V6
to any later versions queue manager.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A logic omission meant that the after a queue manager broker
process put a message to the transmission queue for inter broker
communication in a pub/sub hierarchy, it failed to close the
queue handle after the message was put. This caused failure if
an attempt was made to remove the transmission queue.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ queue manager code has been modified such that the queue
manager broker process closes any unused queue handle from the
    cache.
