Error description

  • The auto defined channel used for communicating with a queue
manager in a cluster fails with the following error message:

AMQ6174: The dynamically loadable shared library
      '/var/mqm/exits64/xxxxxxxx' was not found. The
system returned error number '2' and error message
      'No such file or directory'.

Since exits are not supported on the IBM MQ Appliance
queue manager, this generates an error and stops the channel
from working. The reference to the exit cannot be removed
because it is used by other auto defined cluster sender channels
     on other non-Appliance queue managers.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
IBM MQ Appliance users using queue manager clusters which have
channel exits defined on the cluster receiver channels of non
Appliance queue managers that are part of the cluster.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
If channel exits are configured for cluster receiver channels
then the corresponding auto defined cluster sender channels
created on MQ Appliance queue managers will fail to start since
exits are not supported on the IBM MQ Appliance.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM MQ Appliance code has been modified to ignore channel
exits on auto defined cluster sender channels.
