APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When installing the MQ version 9.0.1 MQC9 client package on
zLinux
or Linux PPCLE, the following errors are seen at the end of the
installation:

tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now



The installation is successful and complete despite these
errors.

Users installing the MQC9 Client supportPac at 9.0.1 on zLinux
or Linux PPCLE


Platforms affected:
Linux on S390, Linux on Power

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The packaging of the tar files for the MQC9 support packs for
Linux PPCLE and Linux 390x incorrectly referenced
a directory not required for those architectures, which caused
the tar command to report the error above. All the intended
files were included.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQC9 packaging has been corrected to no longer attempt to
reference the affected directory on these platforms
