APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Memory usage of the IBM MQ amqzlaa0 process may be seen to rise
over time in an uncontrolled manner. If corrective action is
    not taken
then free memory on the system may become exhausted.

Local fix

  • Applications should disconnect cleanly using MQDISC

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of activity trace that have applications which do not
cleanly disconnect may be affected by this problem

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Some memory was allocated by the activity trace functionality
while an application was connected to the queue manager. This
application ended without disconnecting from the queue manager
and the memory allocated by the activity trace functionality was
    leaked.

Problem conclusion

  • The code is corrected so that all memory that is allocated by
the activity trace functionality is freed when cleanup
processing takes place for applications that end without
    disconnecting from the queue manager.
