Error description

  • It is possible to configure the MQ V9.0 Explorer to show message
properties for browsed messages as an MQRFH2 structure in the
message body. To do this, the following steps need to be carried
    out:

    - Select the Window->Preferences menu option to bring up the
    Preferences dialog.
    - Click on the Messages option in the left hand navigation pane.
    - Ensure that the Show message properties checkbox is selected,
and click on the as an MQRFH2 structure in message body radio
    button.

If the MQ Explorer has been configured to do this, however, no
message properties will be displayed for messages that have been
    browsed.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    This issue affects users of:

    - The MQ V9.0 Explorer

who have configured the user interface to show message
properties on browsed messages as an MQRFH2 structure in the
    message body.

    Platforms affected:
Windows, Linux on x86-64, Linux on x86

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The MQ Explorer contains a "Message plugin", which is used to
process and store any headers and data associated with messages
that have been browsed by the user interface. Due to an error in
this plugin, the header data associated with a browsed message
was incorrectly cleared before it had been processed. As a
result, it was not possible for the plugin to display message
properties on a browsed message as an MQRFH2 structure in the
    message body.

Problem conclusion

  • The Message plugin provided with the MQ V9 Explorer has been
updated so that the headers on a browsed message are no longer
cleared. This means that the plugin is able to access them and
correctly show message properties on browsed messages as an
MQRFH2 structure in the message body.
