    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects users of IBM MQ version 8

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When an MQ queue manager starts, it may be necessary to resize
the queue manager's object catalog. There is an increased
likelihood of this resizing taking place if a large number of
temporary queues were in use before the queue manager was
    restarted.

A coding error caused MQ to fail to correctly update some
internal references to the newly resized catalog. This later
resulted in errors accessing the catalog, causing the queue
manager to generate the failure data capture (FDC) file
    reporting arcE_OBJECT_DAMAGED.

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ product code has been modified to correctly update
internal references to the resized catalog, if the catalog is
    resized upon queue manager restart.
