APAR status

Error description

  • In MQ console of Queue Manager Widget,
    if customers try to see the log(More -> View Logs) ,
    message("Failed to retrieve directory listing") is output
    when the name of the queue manager cantains dot(.) , percent
    (%), underscore (_) and slash (/) .
    

Local fix

  • Use the mqcli command "dspmqerr" to view error logs via the CLI.
    e.g. "dspmqerr -m QUEUE.MANAGER.NAME"
    

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    Those using the Web UI to attempt to view Queue Manager error
    logs of a Queue Manager with a name containing a supported
    special character.
    
    
    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Due to limitations with the file system on the MQ Appliance, in
    the case where a Queue Manager name contains a special character
    it is necessary to convert the name of the Queue Manager in to a
    name that can be used to store the Queue Manager data.
    
    The Web UI component was using the actual Queue Manager name to
    attempt to find the error logs in the file system. As this name
    does not match that of the actual storage location of the error
    files, the file is not found and an error occurs.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The MQ Appliance Web UI component has been updated so that Queue
    Manager name is correctly translated to the on-disk file path,
    allowing the logs to be viewed within the Web UI.
