Error description

  • In IBM MQ v8.0 an application that reads from a queue can fail
to get
messages that are put to the queue as a group.

The failure occurs for new messages put to the queue in a group
after the application opens the queue and tries to get
messages.

If the group of messages is already on the queue
when the application tries to read from the queue then the
operation
succeeds.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A flag was not set correctly which meant that IBM MQ failed to
identify a waiting MQGET request as being eligible for message
delivery.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The code was changed so that the flag was set correctly. This
caused the IBM MQ messaging logic to correctly identify a
waiting MQGET as being eligible for message delivery.
