APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In WebSphere MQ 7.0 for Windows, the activity trace event for a
message related to MQGET does not contain the text of the
Message Data

Local fix

  • This defect was a result of the use by the MQ samples of GMO
version 1. A temporary workaround would be to change the
application to use GMO version 3.

Problem summary

USERS AFFECTED:
Users who have enabled application activity tracing for
applications using a GMO version less than version 3


Platforms affected:
MultiPlatform

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The activity trace code assumed the use of GMO version 3, which
contains a returned length field. When earlier versions of the
GMO were used by applications, the Returned length field wasn't
valid and resulted in an invalid data size record field.

Problem conclusion

  • The application activity tracing code has been rewritten to use
a field that is valid for all GMO versions.
