IT08461: IBM MQ 8.0 ON UNIX PROCESS CONSUMES LARGE AMOUNTS OF MEMORY UNRELATED TO WORKLOAD

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• IBM MQ 8.0 processes consume large amount of memory in
  comparison to lower levels of MQ
  with same workload. Consumption is likely to be seen in amqzlaa0
  and/or amqrmppa and
  applications if amqrmppa and the application connect to queue
  manager in fastpath mode.
  The leak occurs in the function zfuGroupCheckOS which verifies
  whether a given group exists or not.

  OS group exists or not will be affected by this problem.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  This problem occurred because the memory allocated when querying
  the OS groups was not freed.
  

Problem conclusion

• MQ has been modified to free the allocated memory when querying
  the OS groups.
