Error description

  • When a COM+ application aborts the transaction, an access

    This generates a dump. Here is an example of stack:

    amqmtmgr.dll!CDtc::AbortRequest()
    msdtcprx.dll!CIEnlistmentAsynch::AbortRequestWrapper()
    msdtcprx.dll!CIEnlistmentAsynch::SetState()
    msdtcprx.dll!CIEnlistmentAsynch::SMD_ESTATE_ENLISTED()
    msdtcprx.dll!CIEnlistmentAsynch::StateMachineDriver()
    msdtcprx.dll!CIEnlistmentAsynch::Receive()
    msdtcprx.dll!CIConnSink::ReceivedUserMessage()
    msdtcprx.dll!CIConnSink::IncomingEvent()

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    MQ XA applications that uses MSDTC as the transaction manager.

    Platforms affected:
    Windows

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    A memory access violation error is reported while aborting a
    transaction following a MQRC_GLOBAL_UOW_CONFLICT error.

    The error MQRC_GLOBAL_UOW_CONFLICT is reported if the
    application starts a new transaction on a connection handle that
    is already part of another active transaction.

Problem conclusion

  • The memory access violation error is reported while accessing an
    invalid memory address. A check is introduced to validate the
    address before accessing it.
