IT07087: DEPENDING ON THE LOCALE SET ON WINDOWS (ENGLISH OR NON-ENGLISH) WMQ EXPLORER DISPLAYS CORRECT/INCORRECT MQ VERSION INFORMATION.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You run WebSphere MQ for Windows V7.1.0.5 and you perform an
  update to WebSphere MQ V7.1.0.6.
  
  After the update, if the Windows system is running with an
  English locale, then the WebSphere MQ Explorer correctly reports
  itself as running WebSphere MQ V7.1.0.6. If the Windows system
  is changed to use a different locale (eg. German) then the
  WebSphere MQ Explorer reports itself as using WebSphere MQ
  V7.1.0.5.
  
  This can be verified as follows:
  
  After update from WMQ V7.1.0.5 to WMQ V7.1.0.6 with a locale
  different from ENGLISH (eg. GERMAN) start the WebSphere MQ
  Explorer and do a right click on the Help menu and select "About
  IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer". You will see the version installed
  is getting displayed as V7.1.0.5.
  
  However, the information in the other sections (eg.
  Installation Details/Installed Software show that the WebSphere
  MQ Explorer plugins that are being used by the user interface
  are the ones shipped with WebSphere MQ Version 7.0.1.6. Here is
  an example, that shows this:
  
   com.ibm.mq.explorer.ui (7.1.0.201411132223)
   "Plug-in fﾁr Benutzerschnittstelle des WebSphere MQ
  Explorers"
   [Aktiv]
  
  The last part of the version information is a date stamp, which
  shows that the plugin was built on the 13th of November 2014.
  
  So what this means is that:
  
  - The WebSphere MQ Explorer is correctly using the plugins
   shipped with WebSphere MQ V7.1.0.6.
  
  - The user interface is incorrectly reporting itself as being
   WebSphere MQ V7.1.0.5.

  who run the user interface on a system configured to use a
  non-English locale.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  The WebSphere MQ V7.1 Explorer displays version information in
  two places:
  
  - On the "About IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer" panel, which can be
  accessed by selecting the Help->About WebSphere MQ Explorer menu
  option.
  - On the "Features" panel in the "IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer
  Installation Details" window. To access this panel, bring up the
  "About IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer" panel, click on the
  Installation Details button and then select the Features tab.
  
  When the WebSphere MQ V7.1.0.6 Explorer was run on a system
  configured to use an English locale, the "About IBM WebSphere MQ
  Explorer" panel, and the "Features" panel in the "IBM WebSphere
  MQ Explorer Installation Details" window, correctly showed that
  the version being used was V7.1.0.6.
  
  However, when the WebSphere MQ V7.1.0.6 Explorer was run on a
  system configured to use a non-English locale, the "About IBM
  WebSphere MQ Explorer" panel, and the "Features" panel in the
  "IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer Installation Details" window, showed
  that the version being used was V7.1.0.5.
  

Problem conclusion

• The WebSphere MQ V7.1 Explorer has been updated to show the
  correct version information on both the "About IBM WebSphere MQ
  Explorer" panel, and the "Features" panel in the "IBM WebSphere
  MQ Explorer Installation Details" window, for all locales.
