APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After setting the environment variables MQCHLLIB and MQCHLTAB
to make use of the CCDT, the .NET client application fails to
connect to the queue manager reporting AMQ9518 . The following
error is written to the error log:

    Process(1234.1) User(IBMuser) Program(test.exe)

    Host(IBMSupportbox)Installation(Installation`)
     VRMF(7.5.0.2) AMQ9518: File
    '#:\###\AMQCLCHL.TAB' not found.

    EXPLANATION:
The program requires that the file '#:\###\AMQCLCHL.TAB' is
    present and available. ACTION:
This may be caused by invalid values for the optional
    environment
variables MQCHLLIB, MQCHLTAB or MQDATA. If these variables are
valid or not set then record the name of the file tell the
systems administrator who must ensure that file
'#:\###\AMQCLCHL.TAB' is available to the program.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All MQ client application that connects to the queue manager
    using CCDT.

    Platforms affected:
    Windows

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
If first connection of a client application does not use the
client channel definition table (CCDT) file and if the second
connection made by the same application tries to use CCDT to
establish connection with the queue manager then the client code
looks for the CCDT file only in the default path. It does not
attempt to pick the value set in the environment variable
MQCHLLIB and hence the connection fails if the CCDT file is not
    in the default path.

Problem conclusion

  • MQ code has been modified to retrieve the CCDT information from
    the environment variable.
