Error description

  • An application running builds a group message
(using GROUPID ) with an MQRFH2 header. The message is sent
to a remote queue manager. When the message is received on
the remote queue manager the message group is lost, because
    the sequence of the MQ
headers are in the wrong order when built on the transmission
queue of the sending queue manager.
The remote queue manager receives the sequence :
    XQH + RFH2 + MQMDE + message body
    instead of
    XQH + MQMDE + RFH2 + message body
    .

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
All users making use of MQMD fields not present in MQMD
version 1 sending a message containing an RFH2 to a remote queue
    manager.

    Platforms affected:
    MultiPlatform

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When a message is placed on to a transmission queue, its headers
are rebuilt in order to prepend an MQXQH header to the header
chain. The MQXQH always contains a version 1 MQMD, so any data
specified in MQMD 2 or greater fields are appended as an MQMDE.

The code which exists to insert an RFH2 at the end of the header
chain did not recognise the MQMDE header, and so the RFH2 header
was added ahead of the MQMDE thinking the MQMDE was message
    body.

Problem conclusion

  • The RHF2 insertion code has been modified to recognise the MQMDE
header, ensuring that the RHF2 header is always added after
    the MQMDE, not before.
