Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users that open a queue with MQOO_SAVE_ALL_CONTEXT (including
Message Broker) and perform MQGET of a message containing
multiple RFHs with duplicate folders shared between them.
    for example:

    first rfh2:
    <folder1><prop1>value</prop1></folder1>
    <folder2><prop2>value</prop2></folder2>

    second rfh2:
    <folder1><prop3>value</prop3></folder1>
    <folder3><prop4>value</prop4></folder3>

In this case, there are two instances of 'folder1' which need to
    be merged.

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The problem was caused by a miscalculation during the parsing of
the RFH2 folders that caused invalid access to memory.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem is fixed by ensuring that the folders can be merged
correctly. A correction to the calculation logic was necessary
to prevent memory access outside of the message data.
