Error description
WebSphere MQ Repository Manager process experiences connection broken error and is unable to complete MQI calls during queue manager shutdown - possibly reporting error code 2195 (MQRC_UNEXPECTED_ERROR). This is followed by amqrrmfa process terminating abnormally. As an example the following errors may be seen in QMGR logs. AMQ9511: Messages cannot be put to a queue. EXPLANATION: The attempt to put messages to queue 'IBM.MQV75' on queue manager '' failed with reason code 2195. AMQ9447: Unable to backout repository manager changes. EXPLANATION: The repository manager tried to back out some internal operations but was unsuccessful. The reason code from the MQBACK call was 2009. AMQ9409: Repository manager ended abnormally. EXPLANATION: The repository manager process ended abnormally. Termination of this process will cause the queue manager to terminate unless the tuning parameter TolerateRepositoryFailure has been set to 'TRUE'. If the queue manager does not terminate, further cluster management activity will not occur, this will effect the availability of cluster resources accessed or hosted by this queue manager
Local fix
No workaround should be required - the repository process terminates and work in progress will be backed out on queue manager restart.ᅠ The error messages generated during termination can be safely ignored.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere MQ for MultiPlatforms Version 7.5.0 Platforms affected: MultiPlatform **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: During queue manager quiesce on MQ 7.5, under some circumstances the Cluster Repository process (amqrrmfa) is not correctly notified to shutdown and attempts to continue processing as other components begin termination. When this occurs, amqrrmfa will eventually receive errors from MQI calls (such as 2195 MQRC_UNEXPECTED_ERROR or 2009 MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN). Following these errors the amqrrmfa process issues error message AMQ9409 and terminates.
Problem conclusion
The WebSphere MQ product code has been corrected to ensure that the amqrrmfa process is notified on queue manager shutdown and quiesces cleanly. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Platform v7.5 -------- -------------------- Multiplatforms 7.5.0.2 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere MQ Recommended Fixes' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006037 If the maintenance level is not yet available information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere MQ Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg27006309 ---------------------------------------------------------------
