Error description

• Using WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition version 7.0.4 the
  Database Logger reports the following error coming from the
  JDBC driver:
  
  BFGDB0003E: A problem occurred with the database. The database
  driver reported the following details: SQL State [42815], Error
  Code [-4461], Message [[jcc][10177][11618][3.64.82] Invalid
  data conversion: Requested conversion would result in a loss of
  precision of 14315410149. ERRORCODE=-4461, SQLSTATE=42815]
  
  The DB2 SQL errorcode -4461 means "the specified value
  is invalid or out of range."

Problem summary

  All users of WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition Version 7.0.4
  database logger with DB2 database on z/OS.
  
  
  Platforms affected:

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  BIGINT support is not available on DB2 8.1 on z/OS so the DB2 on
  z/OS schema uses INT in place of BIGINT. Some columns might need
  to hold integers larger than INT.
  
  For example, when attempting to transfer a file larger than 2
  Gigabytes, the TRANSFER_ITEM.SOURCE_FILE_SIZE column entry
  cannot contain the file size.
  

Problem conclusion

• This APAR introduces two new .sql files:
  
  ftelog_tables_zos_bigint.sql - can be used to create a schema
  for DB2 on z/OS that uses BIGINT where appropriate.
  
  ftelog_tables_zos_bigint_int-bigint.sql - can be used to migrate
  data from an existing INT schema to the new BIGINT schema.
  
  The new schema avoids problems when certain fields are
  required to be larger than INT.
