APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • During the silent installation of the MS0T support pac, the
javaw.exe process that is spawned during the installation waits
indefinitely with CPU Usage being 0%.

Local fix

  • Set the AppData environment variable to a viable path.  For
example,"set APPDATA=C:\Documents and Settings\xyz\Application
Data"

USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects the users who perform a silent installation
of MS0T on a Windows machine without setting the environment
variable 'AppData'.

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The installation of MS0T support pac requires the Windows
environment variable 'AppData' to be set to an appropriate
value. If this variable is not set prior to starting a silent
install, the javaw.exe process spawned during the installation
waits indefinitely with CPU Usage being 0%.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been changed so that the indefinite wait has been
removed during the silent installation.
