APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When using a server side channel security exit with no
corresponding client side exit, the exit causes the channel to
close unexpectedly. The client throws an MQRC2009
(MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN) and if multiplexing is in use, any
other applications using the channel also lose their connection.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects users of the WebSphere MQ (WMQ) classes for
Java Message Service (JMS) and the WMQ classes for Java that
have a security exit defined on the queue manager side of a
channel which returns an exit response of
    MQXCC_SEND_AND_REQUEST_SEC_MSG and no security exit
defined on the client side of the channel.

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The client was sending a user ID (UID) flow
rather than a security flow in response to the security exit's
    request.

Problem conclusion

  • The client now correctly responds to
MQXCC_SEND_AND_REQUEST_SEC_MSG with a null security flow, rather
    than a UID flow.
