Error description

  • A WebSphere MQ version 7 client issues an MQGET which sometimes
    will fail with an access violation, resulting in an FDC being
    generated for probe id XC130031. The function stack from the
    FDC file shows:
    MQM Function Stack
    ImqQueue::get
    ImqQueue::genericGet
    MQGET
    MQGET

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users of WebSphere MQ v7 C and C++ clients which get messages
    from WebSphere MQ v7 queue managers.

    Platforms affected:
    All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    An internal pointer is used to point to the headers within
    message. The problem occurs when an attempt is made by WebSphere
    MQ to access the PutApplType field of the MQMD header after the
    pointer has been changed to point to the next header of the
    message.

Problem conclusion

  • The program logic was corrected so that the correct pointer is
    used to access the PutApplType field of the MQMD header.
