Error description

  • Executing strmqtrc and endmqtrc on a client-only installation
of WebSphere MQ on Windows fails with the following operating
    system prompt:
strmqtrc.exe - Unable to locate component.
This application has failed to start because AMQZST.dll was not
found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Local fix

  • install the client from the server fix or go back to the 7.0.0.1
level of the client fix for WebSphere MQ.

    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
This issue was caused by the addition of a dependency on
amqzst.dll within the tracing executables. This causes problems
on a client-only installation due to the fact that amqzst.dll
is only shipped as part of the server component. The
dependencies were added in order to allow the tracing
executables to call functions which are provided in the amqzst
library. This change was done in IZ34118 and is a regression in
    MQ 7.0.0.2.

Problem conclusion

  • WebSphere MQ was modified to remove any dependencies on the
amqzst.dll library within the tracing executables.
