APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • An FDC is generated by an MQ process such as amqrmppa with
probe Id ZS196004 and major error code MQRC_UNEXPECTED_ERROR.

The function stack will contain entries for MQDISC and
zstMQDISC as in this example from an amqrmppa process.

Local fix

  • MQRC_Q_MGR_NOT_AVAILABLE (2059) WHEN ASYNC CONSUME APPLICATION
ATTEMPS ISSUES MQDISC AFTER QUEUE MANAGER END

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users of WebSphere MQ V7 Asynchronous Consume functionality

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
When an asynchronous consume application is called back to
indicate that unavailability of asynchronous consume function
(possibly due to the queue manager having ended), if the
application performs an MQDISC in an attempt to clean up
resources, there is lacking toleration that the aysnc consume
thread may have already performed the common cleanup operations.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been fixed by accepting the queue manager may
have already ended and enabling the resources on the
application thread to clean up the remainder of the connection
    information.
