Error description

  • When using a WebSphere MQ v7 JMS client on a Chinese OS to
connect to a WebSphere MQ v7 queue manager, the full RFH2 folder
of a message is returned regardless of definition of the
Property Control settings of the queue.

    A trace shows the error:

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
This issue affects anyone using a WebSphere MQ v7 JMS client
with a Chinese codepage to retrieve a message containing an RFH2
header from a WebSphere MQ v7 queue manager, with Property
Control on the queue set to COMPAT.

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows) +Java
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The codepage MS950 was not recognised as being valid. This meant
that any message properties in the RFH2 header that would
usually be parsed out into message property objects were
ignored, and the complete RFH2 header was passed.

Problem conclusion

  • The way the CCSID table is built up has been altered to ensure
that Microsoft synonym codepages are accepted. The MS950
codepage now works the same way as codepage 950.
