Error description

  • A Subscription attempt fails when a temporary dynamic queue is
specified for receiving publications. The trace for process
    amqfxba shows:

Local queue exists. Now check it is a suitable dest.
Queue is not suitable as a destination.

Queue definition for model queue shows:
    DEFTYPE(TEMPDYN)

This may happen when the Pub/Sub subscription application is
written for WebSphere Message Broker prior to v7. It may
fail to register the subscription when run against WMQ v7.

Local fix

  • Apply Fix or change doe to use Perm dynamic queue.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
Users migrating Pub/Sub applications that use RFH2 headers to
    register subscriptions.

    Platforms affected:
All Distributed (iSeries, all Unix and Windows)
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
Pub/Sub applications written to the v7 WMQ APIs can be durable
or non-durable. A durable subscription must receive
publications on a queue that is guaranteed to be present until
the subscription is deleted. As this was not required for RFH2
applications by earlier broker implementations, the older
behaviour must be emulated in appropriate situations.

Problem conclusion

  • The emulation provided for applications that use RFH2 messages
to register subscriptions, is modified to allow them to
continue using temporary dynamic queues. When the queue is
closed the subscription is also de-registered and removed.
