    AND LARGE NUMBER OF PAGES IN PORTAL.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • For the "Broadcast links to" option the "Edit Shared
    Settings"/"Configure" mode of Web Content Viewer and Remote Web
    Content Viewer display a list box with all available pages. If
    the number of pages is high, it takes a long time to build this
    list. The "Edit Shared Settings"/"Configure" mode is not
    displayed before the list is completed.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This iFix introduces a new config parameter called
    "wcm.rendering.ui.usePageUniqueName". If this parameter is set
    to true in
    <PortalServerHome>\wcm\shared\app\config\wcmservices\WCMConfigSe
    rvice.properties, the "Edit Shared Settings"/"Configure" mode of
    Web Content Viewer display a text input field instead of the
    mentioned list box. In this text input field the user has to
    enter the unique name of the target page for the broadcast.
    Since the WCMConfigService.properties might not be available to
    the Remote Web Content Viewer, if used on a simple portal
    server, this portlet uses a Portlet Setting instead. To change
    the Remote Web Content Viewer to use the text input field
    instead of the list box use the Manage Portlets portlet in the
    portal administration and add a config parameter
    "wcm.rendering.ui.usePageUniqueName" with the value "true" to
    this portlet.
