APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • GreenPlum Connector read jobs do not abort when the database
throws the SQL_ERROR due to any of the problematic situations.
One such error message that was observed in the "[GreenPlum]
ERROR: http response code 500 from gpfdist'. However this error
can be avoided by using the proper values to
CC_GP_PIPE_WAIT_DELAY and CC_GP_MAX_RECORD_LENGTH environment
variables.

Local fix

  • add CC_GP_PIPE_WAIT_DELAY and CC_GP_MAX_RECORD_LENGTH
environment variables.

Problem summary

  • GreenPlum Connector read jobs might hang whenever the GreenPlum
Database Server throws an error message in response to
SQLExecDirect with a return code of SQL_ERROR.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been corrected to abort the job whenever the GreenPlum
Database Server throws SQL_ERROR for SQLExecDirect call which
executes the insert into statement.

Temporary fix

  • Correct the conditions such that the GreenPlum Database Server
doesn't throw the return code SQL_ERROR.
