  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The error reported by MCM is:
Failed to read log file from service

Local fix

  • A simple (manual) workaround to the problem is to rename
vmdsapi.dll to vmdsapi.xxx and this will be enough to prevent
the DLL being included in the list of DLLs to be processed.

Users of Multi Client Manager on Windows 10 and Windows 2016

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The list of libraries to be processed by MCM includes
vmdsapi.dll. On Windows 10 and Windows 2016 this causes a core
dump which then causes the MCM process to crash.

RECOMMENDATION:
Apply patch for JR58643.
****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Removed vmdsapi.dll  from the list of libraries to be processed.

Temporary fix

  • A simple (manual) workaround to the problem is to rename
vmdsapi.dll to vmdsapi.xxx and this will be enough to prevent
the DLL being included in the list of DLLs to be processed.
