APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • With MQ Stage:
    * if messages are in the queue, but not in chronological order
    * and wait time is set to 0

Then it is possible for the MQ stage will skip too many
messages, and will not retrieve desired messages.

This is more pronounced if filtes are used to retrieve a subset
    of messages.

Local fix

  • Set Wait Time to 1, or any other non-zero value.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
DataStage MQ connector users that use both wait time set to 0
    and filtering options.
    ****************************************************************
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Wait time set to 0 caused a problem with checking if next
message is in queue even if cursor hasn't reached end of queue.
This way many massages that were in queue at the moment of
    connecting were not read.
    ****************************************************************
    RECOMMENDATION:
    Install patch JR57995
    ****************************************************************

Problem conclusion

  • Added flag for checking if end of queue is reached so wait time
set to 0 would be consider for only new messages in queue.
