Error description
In order to overcome "http response code 500" error from gpfdist utility, Pivotal has suggested to launch gpfdist utility with -w <> parameter set. This patch would allow the user to launch gpfdist with -w <> parameter and the duration is configurable via setting: CC_GP_PIPE_WAIT_DELAY environment variable. The default value for this parameter would be 0 ( as in sync with gpfdist parameter).
Local fix
Problem summary
GreenPlum Connector read jobs are randomly aborting with "http resonse code 500" error. This is happening due to the intermediate EOFs by the gpfdist processes on the pipe. Pivotal suggested to launch the gpfdist utility with -w <> parameter to overcome this problem.
Problem conclusion
A provision has been made in this patch to launch the gpfdist utility with a -w <> parameter. User need to add and set new environment variable: CC_GP_PIPE_WAIT_DELAY and set it to 30 and increase it to 45 as needed. By default / without this environment variable, gpfdist is launched with -w 0, meaning no wait.
