Error description

  • Connector Access Service(CAS) enhancement done for JR53615 does
not populate database attribute values such as DBMS if
  DB2 Connector describes the metadata with the following
integrity issues:

  a) DataCollections (tables/views) are referenced by
ForeignKeys or Aliases but have not been described.
  b) DataCollections (tables/views) are referenced by other
objects such as DataFields(columns) but have not been described.
  c) DataFields are referenced by other objects but have not
been described.
  d) CandidateKeys are referenced by other objects but have not
been described.
  e) ForeignKeys are referenced by key components but have not
been described.
  f) Indexes are referenced by index members but have not been
described.



  Database attribute values should be populated even though
connetor returns metadata with integrity issues.

Problem summary


    

  • Connector Access Service(CAS) enhancement done for JR53615 does
not populate database attribute values such as DBMS if
  DB2 Connector describes the metadata with the integrity
issues. Database attribute values should be populated even
though connector returns metadata with integrity issues.

As default behavior, CAS bulk metadata import implementation
ignores above integrity issues and continues to import with
warning messages.
  This default behavior can be changed by invoking the following
command on the domain tier.
  As result, metadata import will be failed if connector returns
metadata that contains integrity issues.

  <InformationServer> /ASBServer/bin/PropertyAdmin -set -key
cas.import.failonunresolved -value true

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Fixed domain tier code of Connector Access Service to populate
database attributes properly.
