APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Demoting Message Id's from Warnings to Info don't work after
  the installation of Fix Pack 2/JR52390 which tightened up the
  message handler matching.

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  This problem is known to impact those users who are using
  message handling to handle server messages as opposed to
  parallel messages.
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  The message handling code was tightened up to only consider
  exact matches in the message handler table. What was not
  realised at the time was that the server messages unlike the
  parallel messages had not been extended to use the desired
  message ID format but were still using the message number
  which was a substring of the message ID.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply the patch for JR53732
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem has been resolved by making the message handling
  consistent by looking for message IDs in the handler table and
  ensuring the message being written is converted to an ID format
  if required.
