Error description

• When DEBUG level trace is enabled, logs are filled up with
  NullPointerException messages, and makes analysis very
  difficult.
  No functionality in the product is affected, this is an issue
  with the logging mechanism.
  
  The NullPointerException error messages appear to be logged
  after every DEBUG message is logged - for example:
