APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• "Link collector" stage in a Server Job with IS 91x on Linux may
  cause abnormal termination if more than 8 or 9 sort fields are
  specified.
  Problem has been proven to be very versatile among
  configurations.
  This was working fine with DataStage 7.5.3.
  

Local fix

• A/ Reduce number of sort fields until problem vanishes
  B/ In some occasions, just making minor changes/corrections in
  "dsenv" file (superfluous or invalid paths for
  "LD_LIBRARY_PATH") have made problem disappearing
  C/ Problem have been seen also disappearing while enabling
  "Server side" tracing.
  

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  The problem only affects users of the server link collector
  stage who have specified more than 7 keys in the sort criteria
  when using sort/merge collection algorithm.
  ****************************************************************
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  The code handling the key definitions in the collector stage
  had a fixed size array of 8 elements. This limited the number
  of keys to 7.
  ****************************************************************
  RECOMMENDATION:
  The only solution to the problem is to apply the provided
  patch or reduce the number of keys specified.
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem was resolved by making the array dynamic and
  resizing it when it becomes full.
