APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Demotion of the message to informational in Message Handler.
  
  The message with '-1' in the "Example of message text" in the
  project level message handler suppresses the job sequence
  warnings.
  

Local fix

• Remove the '-1'  from the example message text and save the
  message handler.
  

Problem summary

  USERS AFFECTED:
  This only impacts users who are making use of the message
  handling functionality and have either message IDs or the
  value -1 in the message descriptive text.

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  The problem is that the code to handle messages was doing
  a lookup of the message ID of the current message against
  the records in the handler structure, without restricting
  the lookup to the ID field of the record.

  RECOMMENDATION:
  Apply the patch for APAR JR52390
  ****************************************************************
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem was resolved by limiting the comparison of the
  generated ID against only the ID field from the handler record.
